Diversity

Each year in Louisiana, the Governor issues a proclamation that recognizes the valuable contributions of individuals with disabilities to our state’s workforce. It also reaffirms the state’s commitment to breaking down barriers to employment. The goal is to achieve a society and State where individuals with disabilities are respected for who they are, celebrated for their abilities, and encouraged to realize their full potential and talent in order to achieve their dreams through employment.

Our Mission

We put people to work.

The Sixth Planning District Consortium Local Workforce Investment Board Area Sixty works, in partnership with the chief elected officials of Avoyelles, Catahoula, Concordia, Grant, LaSalle, and Winn parishes, to provide oversight for the delivery of workforce services relevant to businesses and jobseekers in the six parish area. Essential to this charge is the oversight of the Career Solutions Centers, which serve as the core of the system.

Through partnerships with other local, state, and national public agencies, educational entities, and economic development organizations, the Career Solutions Centers provide access to jobs, skill development, and business services vital to the economic and social well-being of their communities. Workforce funds are allocated to support employer-driven job training, placement and other workforce development services, including training opportunities in local and state colleges and universities.

The WIB 60 carries out its responsibilities by serving as a convener, bringing together business leaders, labor, education, social supports, and economic development to focus on the area's workforce development issues.
